I have settled on this amazing Over and Under as the best NSTRA firearm. In a typical trial all the birds you and your dog find should be flushed under your own foot and generally they are pen raised bob white quail. This is why I love this sub gauge. Virtually no recoil and with great choke combinations, hitting these small quail from under foot should be no big deal at all. In addition to virtually no recoil, the bird is preserved for table fair. This doesn’t seem like a big deal to some but it is to me. Also I have seen many retrieves ruined by a blast from a close 12 gauge. If the bird is blown apart, that is a different thing entirely to a dog, and not only can it lose you points, once a dog has a taste for the inside of a bird you may have a lifetime problem on your hands with your retrieve. You owe it to yourself and your dog to try one of these amazing tools. And no Savage and Stevens don’t do anything special for me at all. Honestly I wish they would lol but I fell in love with this beauty the first time I picked it up and not I have it in nearly every gauge.
