Squirrel was a puppy we produced from our French import male and a third generation dog from our breeding program. He was placed as a puppy but due to personal problems his family wasn't able to do any training with him. We brought him back after he was a year old and started his house training, obedience etc. We introduced quail and a motivation retrieve to him last week and this day we introduced the bird launcher and gunfire as well. You can see this is also the first time he ran on stickers instead of green grass and he needs to condition his feet a bit more before the Montana hunts. But he has a clean find and makes a retrieve to hand making us very proud. He has the right genetics, and even though he hasn't seen quail since he left us as an 8 week old puppy, it all came back to him and came together.
