I have a few happy places on earth. Disneyland will always be near the top of the list as will being in the field with great dogs. I realized early it wasn’t at all about hunting or shooting that drew me to bird dogs, it was the dog work. Watching the dogs do something that I would never be able to do regardless of how hard I tried. Seeing a dog follow scent wakens something inside me and has led me to bird dog training, SAR, tracking and trailing, and scent detection. I have trained and worked dogs in all of those fields. I just love watching dogs use their noses.
