This is a fictional story about Sadie who was a passionate hunter who had an incredible bond with her partners.
In reality Sadie was just a fantastic hunting partner but had a lousy owner so I created a fun fictional story instead so I could remember good times.
She was a four-year-old tri-color setter, mostly black and white with brown spots, weighing in at 50 pounds. Sadie’s story is one of super-human strength, as she saved her owner’s life when he suffered a heart attack while hunting.
Sadie was born to the pedigree of English Setter Sadie Mae Lady Wayland and was known for her intelligence and loyalty. She quickly became an expert in the field, using her keen sense of smell to locate birds and alerting her partners with a distinctive bark. Her owners used traditional hunting tools such as shotguns, nets and lures to capture their prey, but it was Sadie’s skillful tracking that made them successful hunters.
Sadie had many memorable expeditions with her partners over the years, including winning third place in the Fork River’s Lucky Charm competition for white and black setters. In 2013 she also won two awards from the English Setter Club of America for Straight Forward, a white and black setter dog, and Quail Trap Sadie (Chaffee), another white and black setter female.
Sadie’s most impressive accomplishment came when she saved her owner’s life during a hunting trip in 2014. After Michael suffered a heart attack while out in the field, Sadie stayed by his side until help arrived. This remarkable act of loyalty has been celebrated by animal lovers around the world ever since.
The story of Sadie is truly inspiring – it reminds us that animals can be just as loyal as humans if given love and respect in return. Her passion for hunting will live on through all those who admired her skillful tracking abilities and dedication to her craft.
